Building Something Special — Together

When I first started Roarsome Sport just 18 months ago, I wasn’t thinking about awards or ratings. I simply wanted to create a space where children could learn new skills, have fun, and feel proud of themselves — and where parents could feel confident that their children were safe, supported, and genuinely cared for.

Since then, Roarsome Sport has grown in ways I couldn’t have imagined.

We’ve been recognised with a 3 Kite ICAP rating, which looks at everything from how we run our sessions to safety and communication, and we were named in the Club Hub Top 100 children’s activity providers.

But the truth is — it’s not really about certificates or awards.
It’s about creating something that feels right.

For me, it always comes down to one question:
Would I be happy for my own children to come here?

That question shapes everything — from how sessions are planned to how I talk to parents and cheer the children on. Because I want every child who walks through the door to feel welcome, confident, and part of something special.

And your words mean the world:

“My son had a wonderful time at Roarsome Sport!! Kate is friendly, enthusiastic and patient.”
“We were super impressed at the thought and effort that went into each session.”
“Excellent class. Kids really improve their skills and listening.”

Every bit of feedback like this reminds me what Roarsome Sport is really about — helping children find joy in movement and giving families the chance to share that joy together.

That same belief is what led me to start SEND sessions too. After a community event where I met a few parents struggling to find inclusive opportunities for their children, I realised how much difference small, thoughtful adaptations could make.

From there, the SEND sessions began — and they’ve since grown into one of the most meaningful parts of my work. I now:

  • Lead PE lessons at a local specialist school,
  • Support a charity that provides after-school sessions for disabled children, and
  • Develop online resources to help families all over the country use movement to support their children’s development and regulation.

It’s been a journey built on small steps, community spirit, and a shared belief that every child deserves to feel the joy of being active.

So whether your child has been bouncing balls, running races, or just finding their feet again after a long week — thank you for being part of it. Roarsome Sport is growing, not just because of what happens in the sessions, but because of the families who believe in what we’re trying to do.

If you’ve been part of Roarsome Sport — recently or in the past — I’d love for you to share your thoughts in a quick review. Your words help other parents find us and help me keep improving what we do.
