I’m thrilled to announce that on 20th October, Roarsome Sport will be hosting our very first SEND-friendly trial session! I truly believe that sport is for everyone—no matter their ability or background.
This session will be a safe, inclusive space where both children and parents can grow and learn. Whether it’s building motor skills, boosting confidence, developing social relationships, or fostering independence, every child can benefit. And I’m here to work with you to ensure we meet your child’s specific needs.
Why this matters to me:
I may not be an expert in SEND children, but I bring a personal understanding. As a mum of two girls I can see how different they are in terms of their strengths and motivations. I want to develop each child as an individual and adapt to different needs. It breaks my heart to think that there may be opportunities out there for any child that aren’t available to everyone.
My mum uses a wheelchair, so I know the importance of adapting to different needs and also the impact that each diagnosis, hospital stay and lifestyle change has on the family. As a teenager I volunteered at a SEND Play Scheme during the summer holidays, and those experiences have stayed with me. I’m eager to collaborate with you and your child to create an environment where everyone can thrive.
What to expect:
- Parent and child sessions: You’ll be right alongside your child, supporting and learning how to motivate and encourage them.
- We’ll focus on one of six different sports, including fun team games, activities that improve balance, coordination, and agility, as well as sport-specific skills.
- We’ll also play games that emphasize listening, which helps develop social and cognitive skills in a playful and engaging way.
This is more than just a class—it’s a community where we’ll work together to meet the needs of every child. I’m keen to hear your thoughts and make sure this session grows into something truly special for your family. Feedback is going to be the key to this session, so I encourage you to get in touch now and after the session, to say what worked, and what could be better.
Spaces are limited, so be sure to book your spot today! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions—I’m always happy to chat.
Looking forward to seeing you and your child there!
