A Year of Growth, Inclusion, and Quiet Wins at Roarsome Sport

As the year comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on what this year has really been about for Roarsome Sport. Not just what’s grown — but how it’s grown.

Over the past twelve months, our Sunday sessions have expanded, with more children joining us each week and a genuinely special atmosphere building in the room. That growth even meant adding an extra class over the summer — something that felt like a big milestone. What matters most to me isn’t the numbers, though, but the feeling: children who feel welcome, confident, and happy to take part in their own way.

Our monthly SEND community sessions have continued steadily, offering families a space where movement doesn’t come with pressure or expectation. These sessions are a reminder that inclusion isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing things differently, thoughtfully, and with care.

One of the biggest changes this year has been in schools. What started as a single PE class in a specialist setting has grown into teaching two classes of amazing children. Building relationships, trust and familiarity over time has shown me again how powerful consistent, inclusive movement can be.

This year also brought some unexpected recognition. Roarsome Sport was named in the Club Hub Top 100, placing us among the top children’s activity providers in the country, and we maintained our ICAP 3 Kite award — a marker of quality and good practice that I’m incredibly proud of.

Alongside our regular sessions, we’ve stayed rooted in the local community — leading warm-ups at the children’s race during the local half marathon, hosting picnics in the park, delivering sessions in nurseries, and working with a local SEND charity. Being invited back to many of these events next year feels like a real sign that what we’re doing matters.

Twelve months ago, I don’t think I fully believed I’d be here. This year has been about growth, yes — but also about clarity. About trusting my instincts, staying true to inclusive values, and building something sustainable rather than rushed.

As we move towards a new year, I’m proud of what’s been built — and excited about what’s still to come. There are big plans on the horizon for 2026: more movement, more fun, and even more impact.

Sometimes progress is loud.
Sometimes it’s quiet.
This year, it’s been both.
