An Award-Winning Weekend for Roarsome Sport

Wow! What a weekend it’s been for Roarsome Sport! I’m still riding the high from two brilliant events that reminded me just how special this little business of mine is becoming.

Saturday: Club Hub Awards in Birmingham

The weekend kicked off bright and early on Saturday morning as I made my way to Birmingham for the 2025 Club Hub Awards – a national event celebrating the incredible work children’s activity providers are doing across the UK.

The day was packed with inspiring talks and ideas to make our sessions even more fun, inclusive, and impactful for children and families. A standout moment for me was a fantastic workshop from The Friendly SEND Advisor. It was honest, heartfelt, and full of practical ideas that I’ll be bringing back to our sessions at Roarsome Sport, especially for our SEND families.

Then came the awards ceremony… and I’m so excited to share that Roarsome Sport was named one of the UK’s Top 100 Children’s Activity Providers for 2025! 🎉

This recognition means the world. The awards are judged by a panel of experts and focus on five key areas: activity benefits, safeguarding, inclusivity, community impact, and business success. To be recognised for those values – especially just over a year since we launched – is something I’m incredibly proud of.

Sunday: Junior Warm-Up Fun at the Uttoxeter Festival of Running

After a late night celebrating in Birmingham, there was no time to rest! On Sunday morning, I was back out early to take part in the Uttoxeter Road Runners Festival of Running at the racecourse. No horses this time – just an energetic crowd ready for a half marathon, 10k, and junior races.

Roarsome Sport had the wonderful job of leading the warm-up for the junior race. And what a moment it was! Many of our class children were there, the older ones ready to run the 2km race, and the younger ones cheering them on from the sidelines. Everyone joined in brilliantly with the warm-up and then… they were off!

While the runners tackled the course, our younger group set up for their own mini athletics games near the finish line – and before long, the older ones were back and jumping straight into the fun.

The weather couldn’t have been kinder. The sun was shining, the kids were beaming, and it was a lovely chance to catch up with parents and share what Roarsome Sport is all about – fun, movement, confidence, and community.

Reflecting on a Roarsome Weekend

It’s weekends like this that remind me why I started Roarsome Sport in the first place. To be recognised for what we’re building, to watch our children thrive, and to connect with our community… it means everything.

Now, with my girls tucked up in bed and the sun still out, I think it’s time to put my feet up and enjoy a well-earned cold drink!

Thanks for being part of this journey. Whether you’re attending our weekly sessions, following our updates, or cheering from the sidelines – it’s your support that makes all of this possible.

Here’s to more Roarsome adventures ahead! 🦁☀️
